On his radio show on January 25th, DJ Kim Jae Wook invited Lim Juhwan as his guest.  Lim is currently the squad commander in their unit and will be discharged soon in February.  Kim asked if Corporal Jung Jihoon will be Lim's successor as squad commander.  One guest asked, "isn't this already decided, hehe?".  As they discussed, DJ Kim said "if he won't do it, then who will, hehe?"  He added that the current consensus and atmosphere is to convince Corporal Jung Jihoon to be the squad commander^^!

On the same show on January 31st, DJ Kim said "I spent time with Corporal Jung Jihoon today. He is a man of great strength and it makes me happy to spend time together with him!"

[Oops] Dude, where’s your hat?

We found it both irritating and humorous that while Rain gets reprimanded for not wearing a hat, others continue to violate this supposedly serious regulation.

Of course, we don't know for sure that this person in these photos/this video is a soldier at all.  However, since he is in military uniform and he is carrying photography equipment, I think we are safe to assume that he is likely some type of military media personnel, which means that he would be in the ROK Army, and thus, a soldier.  So, "technically," he should have been wearing his hat while he was outdoors. Unless, of course, military photographers are exempt from this duty, which may be the case, since I imagine it might be somewhat difficult to keep up with your paparazzi-like activities and still keep a cap upon your head.  

Still.  This soldier's activity caught the eye of one of our eagle eye Clouds here in the U.S. and was brought to our attention.  Which again begs the question: why the inconsistency with your regulations, ROK Army?  Why punish one soldier for not wearing his hat outdoors, when we see others do it the time?   It's baffling.

*Edited to Add: So. Are all R.O.K. Army personnel required to wear head coverings outside and in public when in uniform, or not? Which is it? And if this photographer is not military personnel, why the heck is he in uniform? *tsk, tsk, tsk*

Maybe that’s another reason Rain was “unforthcoming” to the Media—he had personnel without a hat on right in his face, and the Media obviously thought nothing of it. LOL! ^@@^

24일 군 당국은 특별관리지침와 관련해 "홍보지원병(연예병사)에게 특혜를 제공한다는 오해를 제거하기 위해 일반병사와 같은 휴가 기준을 적용키로 했다"며 "대외행사 후 포상조치 등 별도 혜택도 차단하도록 조치했다"고 밝혔다.

군 관계자는 "홍보지원병들도 이들이 속한 국방부 근무지원단의 일반병사들과 비슷한 수준에서 휴가를 가도록 할 것"이라고 설명했다.

또 군 당국은 연예병사들이 공무를 빌미로 무분별하게 외박ㆍ외출을 나가는 관행에도 제동을 걸었다.

특별관리지침에 따르면 연예병사가 공무외출을 나갈 때는 간부가 동행해야 하며 외출 당일 저녁 10시 이전에 부대로 복귀해야 한다.

또 연예병사가 군 주관행사를 지원할 때는 가능한 부대 내 시설 또는 복지시설에서 숙박하도록 했고 외부인을 사적으로 접촉하는 행위도 통제하기로 했다.
