Penyanyi Rain (Jung Ji Hoon, 31 tahun) yang sedang menjalani wajib militernya, telah menjalankan pengendalian diri dan refleksi diri dengan menulis laporan dari buku ‘The Growing Is Painful’ dan ‘The Wolf of Wall Street’, yang dibacanya selama masa percobaannya.

Menurut seorang pejabat militer pada tanggal 15 Januari, “Kopral Jung Ji Hoon (tergabung dalam DEMA) telah membaca dua buku yang direkomendasikan oleh unitnya dan telah menulis laporan kedua buku tersebut dan bahkan juga menulis sebuah surat permintaan maaf. Masa percobaan tujuh hari telah diselesaikannya dengan sukses hari ini.”

Buku ‘The Growing Is Painful’ terdiri dari 42 pesan pembangkit semangat, masih banyak dibaca terutama oleh mereka yang berusia antara 20 – 30 tahun. ‘The Wolf of Wall Street’, adalah sebuah novel otobiografi seorang pialang sahan jenius ‘Jordan Belfort’, merupakan kisah klasik dari miskin menjadi kaya, dan versi filmnya sedang diproduksi dan dibintangi oleh ‘Leonardo DiCaprio’.

Kopral ‘Jung’ yang melanggar dekrit wajib militer saat berkencan dengan aktris ‘Kim Tae Hee’ waktu sedamg pergi untuk menjalani tugas militer, pada tanggal 8 Januari lalu telah dikenakan sanksi untuk menjalani masa percobaan selama seminggu.

Pejabat tersebut mengatakan, Kopral Jung menulis surat permintaan maaf, “ Saya sangat menyesal terhadap para prajurit DEMA lainnya, dan saya minta maaf jika telah menyebabkan masalah bagi mereka dan bagi seluruh unit (DEMA). Dikatakan bahwa Bintang Dunia Jung mengunjungi pangakalan militer untuk melakukan konser yang  meningkatkan semangat para prajurit jauh lebih sering dibandingkan dengan prajurit PR lainnya, hingga menyebabkan cedera punggungnya kumat.

Sementara itu, Departemen Pertahanan telah menerapkan sistem kebijaksanaan baru tentang apa yang boleh dan tidak boleh dilakukan saat wajib militer.

A good translator knows that when it comes to translating a text with lots of technical terms one should consult and prepare, consult people who work in the field, in the search for the terms and “slang” used, and prepare a list of words and reliable resources, to provide the most accurate translation possible, a good translator is also a WORD DETECTIVE. Since translators know each part of this huge world has their own rich vocabulary and costumes, we try our best to become the “neutral” link between the different locations, and it is OUR job not the speaker’s or writer’s and definitely not the reader’s or listener’s to MAKE THIS MULTICULTURAL CONNECTIONS, this is what we prepare for, this is why we translate.

We see as translators the desperation that provokes not understanding a situation that is of the most importance for the people involved, we try our best, and we keep on trying to learn to be the communication line in a multicultural conversation.

20130110 국방FM 위문열차 공연을 앞두고

전국의 군부대에서 펼쳐지는 국군방송 위문열차에는 다른 공연에서는 볼 수 없는 특별함이 있다. 특히 관객석에 빼곡히 자리 잡은 국군 장병들이 여성 걸그룹 무대보다 남성 국방홍보대원들의 무대에 더 환호하고 열광하는 것은 쉽게 상상이 되지 않을 것이다. 　

장병들 요청에 ‘눈의 꽃’을 사시사철 무반주로 들려주던 박효신 예비역 병장, 열정적으로 공연을 즐긴 장병들에게 다음날 전투휴무를 선물하기 위해 사단장님을 설득하고 애원하던 정지훈 상병, 그리고 온몸이 땀에 흠뻑 젖을 정도로 무대를 뛰어다니던 언터처블까지…. 누구 하나 빠지지 않고 최선을 다하는 모습에 장병들은 한목소리로 대원들의 이름을 연호하고, 그 열기에 에너지를 얻은 대원들은 더욱 열정적인 무대를 펼쳐 보인다. 　

홍보대원들의 임무에는 군의 사기를 높이는 일뿐만 아니라, 우리 군과 국민을 하나로 만드는 역할도 포함된다. 군부대 주변 지역주민에게는 평생 잊지 못할 추억을 선사하고, 여수엑스포 기간 중 열린 K-pop 공연에는 대원들을 보기 위해 3만 명이 넘는 관객이 공연장을 찾은 바 있다. 이렇듯 홍보대원들은 민·군 화합의 장이 되는 행사나 대규모의 국가 행사에도 참여하며 우리 군에 대한 긍정적인 이미지를 불러일으킨다. 　

하지만, 최근 홍보대원들이 지금까지 해온 노력이 ‘특혜’라는 두 글자에 가려 아무것도 아닌 것처럼 돼 버리고, 대원들이 그동안 수많은 장병과 만들어온 추억까지 퇴색되고 있는 것 같아 안타깝다. 　

홍보대원들의 휴가와 외박일수를 일반 병사들의 그것과 숫자로만 비교한다면 당연히 많아 보일 수밖에 없을 것이다. 하지만, 대원들이 무대에 오르기 전 연습하고 음원 작업을 하기 위해 공무상 외박을 한 날, 심지어 위문열차 공연을 위해 지방출장을 간 날까지 외박일수에 포함되고, 그로 인해 특혜를 받고 있다며 비난받는 것은 대원들 입장에서 보면 억울할 수밖에 없을 것이다. 　

특히 위문열차는 방송 프로그램으로 제작되기 때문에 매주 같은 무대를 반복적으로 보여줄 수 없는 문제가 있다. 그러한 제작상의 어려움 때문에 그동안 대원들에게 새로운 곡, 새로운 무대를 준비해 달라고 요청해온 제작진의 입장에선 어려운 상황에서 애써준 대원들에게 미안한 마음뿐이다. 　

홍보대원들이 기꺼이 주말과 휴가를 반납하고 위문열차와 라디오 방송, 각종 공연에 참여하는 것은 대원들 역시 자신들이 맡은 임무가 장병들의 사기에 얼마나 도움이 되는지 잘 알고 있고, 자신들이 그러한 역할을 하고 있다는 사실에 자부심을 느끼고 있기 때문이다. 　

2013년 새해에도 어김없이 위문열차는 전국의 군부대를 찾아가고, 그곳에서 홍보대원들은 다시 무대에 오를 것이다. 무대를 지켜보는 장병들이 대원들을 나와 다른 군 생활을 하는 연예인으로 보기보다 자신에게 주어진 임무에 최선을 다하고 있는 전우로 감싸주고, 지금까지 그래 왔던 것처럼 그들의 무대를 열광하며 즐겨주길 바란다. <송현주 국방FM 위문열차 작가>

When the soldiers watch them on stage, let’s hope they do not see these DEMA members as celebrities living a different military life than their own. Rather, let’s hope they will see them as comrades, and continue to enjoy their stages passionately like they always have.

全國展開的軍隊節目慰問列車有著其他公演沒有的特別力量。觀眾椅上坐滿了士兵。比起女團，他們對國防宣傳隊員的舞台更熱烈歡呼，更狂熱。

一年四季在士兵們要求下清唱“雪之花“的朴孝信預備役兵長；以熱情的表演帶給士兵們愉快，然後為了士兵們第二天得到戰鬥休假禮物而努力說服，哀求師團長的鄭智薰上兵；還有整個身體被汗水溼透落力表演的 untouchable。看到他們全力以赴的表演，士兵們齊聲歡呼他們的名字，隊員們從士兵們的熱情又得到力量，展現更熱情的舞台。

宣傳隊員的任務不只是提高軍隊的士氣，還擔當了將我們的軍隊和國民融合為一體的角色。 通過公演，他們送給了軍部隊周邊居民畢生難忘的回憶。 在麗水世博期間舉行的K-pop公演，超過3萬名觀眾為了看宣傳隊員表演而前往。宣傳隊員參與了這些可以讓民，軍融合的活動，或者大規模的國家慶典，展現軍隊積極的形象。

隊員們甘願調動週末和休假做慰問列車和電台節目，參加各種的公演，因為他們很清楚自己的任務，對士兵們的士氣有莫大的幫助，因為他們對自己有這樣的作用感到很自豪。

Los días en los que se duerme afuera de la base es por los ensayos para las presentaciones sobre el escenario y porque tienen que hacer programas que son emitidos por los medios de comunicación, también duermen afuera de la base los días que tienen que viajar a las bases regionales para las presentaciones de Consolatory Train, todos estos días fueron incluidos como días de licencia.
